Prepare Ye The Way Of The Antichrist

Note: Updated information at the bottom of this original article.

Since Pope Benedict XVI announced his resignation, discussions have increased concerning the prophecies of the “last pope.”  There are a few prophecies within the Catholic church that concern this end-time prophecy.  First is the most famous prophecy made by Malachy who supposedly had a prophetic vision from God concerning the 112 remaining popes. Pope Benedict XVI is supposedly the 111th pope.  This is what Malachy's prophecy says about the last pope:

"In the final persecution of the Holy Roman Church, there will sit Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations, and when these things are finished, the City of Seven Hills will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The End."

Then there is the prophecy of Pope Pius X, who supposedly received two visions from God concerning the last pope.  The account is as follows:

During an audience for the general chapter of the Franciscan order in 1909, the Pontiff appeared to enter a trance. Those present remained motionless and silent. After a few moments, Pius opened his eyes, rose from his seat, and cried, "What I have seen is terrifying! Will I be the one, or will it be a successor? What is certain is that the Pope will leave ROME and, in leaving the Vatican, he will pass over the dead bodies of his priests!" He then cautioned the witnesses, "Do not tell anyone of this while I am alive."

Just before his death, Pius had another vision. "I have seen one of my successors, of the SAME NAME, who was fleeing over the dead bodies of his brethren. He will take refuge in some HIDING PLACE; but after a brief respite, he will die a cruel death.  Respect for God has disappeared from human hearts. They wish to efface even God's memory. This perversity is nothing less than the beginning of the last days of the world."

If true, when we put these prophecies together, we find that the next pope will be named Pope Pius XIII and he will be the last pope.  His reign will end after a brief respite after the destruction of Rome, the City of Seven Hills.

What role would Peter the Roman, Pope Pius, XIII, serve in the enemy’s false trinity?  The first thing that comes to mind is a counterfeit “John the Baptist.”  Just as John prepared the way for the Lord, this counterfeit John must prepare the way for the Antichrist.  That would include preparing the sheep to be herded in a new direction.  This John will lead them further away from God by creating an all inclusive church, one that accepts forms of sin that were previously forbidden.  What does the church membership want?  Mainstreaming homosexuality, including same sex marriage and openly gay  and cohabiting priests.  Look also for an open door policy for women in all levels of clergy and a change in attitude toward divorce.  Eventually, I see an approved method of abortion that is sanctioned by the Catholic church.  Worldly Catholics and the worldly Christians will eat it up, calling the church progressive and attentive to the needs and desires of their parishioners.

Once the Antichrist shows up on the world stage, this counterfeit “John” will point these people in the direction of the Antichrist.  Slowly, they will accept this Antichrist as their god, who they will worship, with the Pope as his “prophet” who can actually perform miracles in the presence of the Antichrist.

This sounds impossible, but if you believe in a pre-tribulation rapture, then it’s not as impossible as it seems.  In a pre-tribulation rapture, all true born again believers will be raptured, leaving the worldly “christian” behind to be blinded to the truth and willing to follow a lie.

In a pre-tribulation rapture, we won’t be here to see who the Antichrist is, but I can’t find anything in the bible that states that we won’t know who the false prophet is.  If these prophecies are from God, then this next pope will be the one who helps to usher in the reign of the Antichrist.  Be observant of what this new pope's name is and what name he chooses to serve under.

An interesting note is that two of the men in the running for the next pope are:

Tarcisio Pietro Evasio Bertone
Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson

They both have “Peter” in their name.  Another interesting fact is that Bertone was born in "Romano" Italy.  Bertone is Benedict’s old friend and right hand man.  He currently serves as Cardinal Secretary of State.  If Benedict has any say in the matter, Bertone has a good chance of being named the next pope.  Could this be “Peter the Roman?”

I’m ready to be wrong.  I could be completely off base.  If that’s the case, that’s okay.  I’m just happy watching the Lord’s plan unfold while I wait for His return.  We live in exciting times, brothers and sisters!!!  Continue to look up!

The world welcomes the newest pope, and it's not Tarcisio Bertone or Peter Turkson.  It's Argentine Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio who will go by the name, Pope Francis I.  This should be interesting.  Looking forward to hearing what the Malachy supporters have to say on the issue.  Is there some hidden meaning to his own name or the name he has chosen as pope?  More to come.

I thought I’d take a look at the flags of the pope’s home nation.  He’s from Buenos Aries, Argentina.  Taking a look at the Argentine flag, there is a symbol of the sun smack dab in the middle of the flag.  I thought that was interesting, since the Catholic Church is still holding on to sun worship.  I then searched for the Buenos Aries flag, and found that it, too, had the symbol of the sun in the center of the flag.  What was even more interesting is that the Buenos Aries flag also has the symbol of the "stephanos," that's the Greek word for the crown of leaves that victor's received.  So there we have it, the sun symbol and the crown of leaves that both point to very important symbols to the church (the sun) and to biblical prophecy (the crown of leaves).  I’m still doing research on this, so please bear with me and keep your eyes peeled for a new blog from me concerning these new pieces of information.

Repent and be forgiven! Believe and be saved!
